Press doesn't always equal success (and that's fine) + reissue teaser
The Modern Folk record made Bandcamp's Best Experimental Music list! But what does that actually mean for sales?
Time for a reality check about press coverage, folks.
This week I'm digging into what press actually does for indie labels (it's not always what you think). The Modern Folk Electronic Ensemble made Bandcamp's "Best Experimental Music" for April (our first time ever making one of those lists!) but the real story is in what happened before and after that recognition.
I'm also doing a quick victory lap for all the killer releases we've put out already this year: Adam H's ambient masterpiece, the genius of Krausbauer & Suzuki’s vertical drone, David Van Alken's cinematic beauty, and the Modern Folk record that earned that Bandcamp nod. All still in stock and all absolutely worth your time.
Finally, I'm teasing something I'm ridiculously excited about, a 10-year anniversary reissue that's been completely remixed and remastered. It's a record that was ahead of its time and influenced more than people realize. I won't say more now, but heads up: this one's special.
